Charge 3 vs. Charge 4
The JBL Charge for comparison to the Charge 3. The charge is a little heavier and little bigger than the charge three.
They made some slight upgrades to the audio quality on this one so that its predecessor, the JBL Charge 3, had more bass handling capabilities in past iterations. Check out JBL Flip 5 Columbus Day Deals.
The JBL Charge Prime is a great option for speakers that are in the mid-sized Bluetooth range. The charge for’s sound is comparable to the original charge, with rich, deep bass and high definition sound. They’ve made several changes to the mids and highs.
Given the age of my Charge 3, I don’t know how much more an upgraded charge would do to improve it. A few features have been nice to see and experience with the Prime Day model, like better audio quality. However, these improvements are not enough for me to upgrade from a Charge 3. I would give this a 4 because I don’t know about the 10-20% audio quality improvement with the Charge 3, and it sounds good to me without so it may be worth hearing.
The charge prime is a good-sounding speaker with some drawbacks.
Not a smart speaker
The Charge Prime doesn t have voice assistant functions, which may disappoint some people. Siri seems to work through the phone, but I cannot get it to pop up on my speaker.
Previous versions of the JBL Charge Prime had a battery capacity of 6000 milliamp hours, but the newer model boasts an even higher capacity – 7500 milliamp hours.
There are some nice upgrades to this Bluetooth speaker in terms of battery life and capacity, but they lose a couple features.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. They’re both excellent speakers. I’ve said this in another video, but if I play it in my office, I have to keep it at volume 1. That loudness is part of the appeal. I think you can’t go wrong with either speaker.
I appreciate the improvements to battery life, and while I am not in love with some of the new changes like USB type-c, it is still a pretty good. If you can find it at a discount for Prime Day or right after, have a great day!
