The iRobot Roomba 690 is a great choice if you are looking for Black Friday deals.
iRobot Roomba 690 Vacuum Black Friday Deals 2021
The IROBOT Roomba 690 is the cheapest robot vacuum they sell. It’s based on the old 650 which was probably their best-selling model.
Although the 690 is updated in that it offers wi-fi and app controls, the robot doesn’t have built-in smart navigation. This robot vacuum has a random cleaning pattern.
TL;DR: Add explanation of meaning and replace all complex words with simpler terms.
Though it missed a spot in one of our tests, the irobot roomba 690 robot vacuum did what was expected. I, like many other reviewers (including David Langston on Forbes.com), was surprised to discover only 7 cfm of airflow coming from the 690 s sole power setting while testing it out- which is the least amount i have seen on a robot vacuum in recent memory.
What’s new in Roomba 690?
Higher end robot vacuum cleaners, such as the Roomba 980 and i7s, have been shown to produce around 12 cfm of airflow on low power.
In some ways, this isn’t a complete deal breaker because the 690 does well on carpet pickup tests. For example, it picked up all the debris in these tests, including acceptable and pet hair.
It was able to collect every type of debris, including pet hair, that I had on my carpet. However, it did not do as good of a job collecting things such as cardboard and clothespins when they were placed on hard terrain.
Possible rewrite: It helped me pick up all the types and sizes of dirt in my home except
It took time for the roomba to pick up dirt; but was a messy process. It did not pick up much with its side brush, and blew out some small bits of dirt in the air. The 690 seemed to get more embedded sand than the other models, at least during this test.
In Depth Cleaning
I’m trying out a new robot vacuum system with in-depth tests. I only have one other robotic vacuum to compare it with, so there are many questions about how the 690 will do. It could end up being one of the worst in this test series overall though. Its edge cleaning was also pretty bad. I can’t remember seeing a worse performance on this test, the same with a crevice pickup test where again, robot vacuums tend to struggle with anyway.
Though iRobot says that the 690 is supposed to last an hour and half on one charge, it didn’t hold up.
Why pick iRobot Roomba 690 on Black Friday?
The irobot roomba 690 features a battery life of about 99 minutes, but the downside is that it has a random navigation pattern, which requires at least 6-7 hours to clean. It was not too loud, reaching up to about 72 decibels which is not as bad as the Roomba 980
One thing that the Roomba 690 is not, is quiet. The dust bin is easy to empty and not too precarious. Nonetheless, it would help if you were very careful when picking up.
The robot will spill dust if you tilt it in the wrong direction, but it does come with one set of virtual walls to limit its path. The app can be used for scheduling cleanings, getting status alerts and starting and stopping vacuum sessions. Still, it does not come with a mapping feature that is an advanced smart navigation system called “Rumba,” so I would say that while the 650 and its successor have this function. The Roomba 690s were awesome achievements.
The Roomba 690 is a decent vacuum cleaner that costs more than it should. Roombas work really well for cleaning areas, and they are built like tanks – so if you have any problems don’t worry, they will always have customer service to help.
