My amp is a Fender Rumble 500 V3 that puts out 250 watts at 4 ohms and 200 watts at 8 ohms. There are two volume controls, one for raw volume and one to control how much the overdrive sounds in your tone. The three EQ buttons give four different settings: Blues, Fat, Flat, and British. And then we have the eq section with bass, low-mid, high-mid, and treble – each with its own knob. To start let’s just do a flat EQ to see what it sounds like. I’ll start with the Low knob first and cut them, then work my way up. Lets leave those low mids in flat for now and adjust any of the other that were not reduced on their own. I’m going to leave all these at minium
The drive can be activated with a footswitch, and the amp has 3 voicings buttons. They are “bright,” (boosting high frequencies), Contour (cutting mids and boosting highs and lows), and Vintage (compression, boosting low frequencies). I’ll start off by changing my flat sound to bright. Now lets hear it on contour I’ll use a pick to tap the metal contour and raise the volume on the low knob. I’ll use EQ to change my tone from bright to vintage, adjusting equalizer levels accordingly. The amp offers a sound for slap playing which is more contoured as well as bright. With the eq settings, you can create your own sound with the amp or play it to suit your style of play and needs.
