Canon 7D Mark ii Black Friday Deals 2021

Canon launched the 7d mark ii in 2014 as a follow up to its widely popular 7d camera, and it is now our flagship. The 7D Mark II touts an excellent implementation of dual pixel autofocus technology. The 65-focus point focusing system ensures that the camera can focus quickly and accurately. For those photographing wildlife or sports, a sharp and accurate autofocus system is mandatory.

Regardless of the 10 fps rate and recording to two cards simultaneously, this camera doesn’t slow down. The autofocus in video mode has a fantastic face tracking feature. Don’t miss these Canon M50 Mirrorless Camera Black Friday Deals 2020!

Features

A tilt and touchscreen are not included on the 7d mark II, but they have designed it to work with Canon’s STM lenses. The lack of these features poses no problem with non-STM lenses. One of the main reasons that people keep coming back to canon cameras is their image quality.

The color science and detailed images of the Canon 7D Mark II make it a brilliant workhorse for multiple applications. It has 20 megapixels, which has plenty of detail for professional purposes such as in print. I primarily use my camera for portraits.

Lens

I m a professional portrait photographer with my own photography studio and I always shoot my work at 50mm ƒ/8 250 ISO 300 shutter speeds. These headshots were taken with a Speedlight in the single LED panel. The light didn’t bounce as much off of it and this helped for the iris to open up a little bit more.

Design

While all cameras have their flaws, something that is frustrating about Canon’s APS-C sensor cameras is the low-light performance for images. Comfortably, I take my 7d mark II to about 3200 ISO; any higher and the image becomes unusable on the computer due to noise.

For a camera of this cost, it seemed strange that the ISO was only 3200. However, I can count on one hand the number times that I needed to go any higher in shooting with this camera Canon has had a history of disappointing video quality on some of their lower priced cameras.

Specification

The Canon 7D mark II offers fantastic video output options on the outside HDMI port. This camera doesn’t have a log profile, but is capable of making other styles.

The black level could be more faithfully reproduced, since the 7D mark II has a log profile opposite from traditional.

Mirrorless camera

My preferred shooting profile is standard, minus 2 contrast. It works well in all situations I need and even though the camera market for 2020 is saturated, this one still has a place. I’ve considered replacing it with a more video-centric mirrorless camera, such as the Sony Alpha 7 III or Panasonic GH5s many times, but I don’t need to.

Why pick Canon 7D Mark ii on Black Friday?

I took a long look at the newly announced canon eos r, which has some new features that have me excited.

One of my biggest frustrations was that the camera could not record simultaneously to both an SD card and external recorder. I understood why, as it has to do with the software in the camera being able to record either 8-bit 4:2:0 or 10-bit 4:2:2 externally. It would make the price of the Canon C200 irrelevant, especially if you need XLR connectivity.

Final Verdict

Though the Canon 7D Mark II is a few years old, it still holds its own when compared to newer APS-C models. The video features are starting to show their age a little bit, but canon’s budding cinema lineup for video has me agreeing with them there.
