Using my network’s DOCSIS 3.1 technology, the Motorola MT7711 outperformed other standards on the market.

This is inside a Docker container, but you can see the speed is perfect. I’m going to go ahead and do some tests without that so we have an example too. Still, from my server you’ll see how fast it can run the local speed test directly from itself because, in essence, there’s almost a 10 gigabit connection. So really for me we’re limited by disk drive here.

Another problem with this server is that it runs on standard platter disks. This makes things move very slowly, which we can see from the speed tests. It downloads at about 300 megabits per second according to Cox Speedtest and uploads at 30 megabits per second using which are both slow by today’s standards. I am getting an appropriate amount of upstream when uploading videos to Youtube, even though I’m only allotted 22 megabytes.

My Aeris SB6183 is DOCSIS 3.0, and the power levels are all good here; signal to noise ratio acceptable. I’m not getting any uncorrectable errors, so there’s no reason that I wouldn’t be able to receive my full speeds as long as they’re also covered by the same firmware. Recently, I have been unable to hit even close to 330 megabits downstream and upstream (35ms). In the past, I would routinely get over 300 mbps. I will contact my ISP and change my modem to an SB 8200.

Why pick ARRIS SB8200 on Black Friday ?

I swapped out the modem to the Arris sb8200 and I took a cox speed test again, but it still didn’t work.
I swapped out my old modem (a Netgear CM600) with this new one that was sent to me by Cox: an Arris SB8200. It seems like it has Let’s try using coxa servers again; that made a definite improvement. I might need to run a speedtest in the wee hours of the morning when nobody else is online and see if I get speeds that are as good as before; you’d think if it were testing cox’s network, though with intermittent service like this

Final Verdict

Upon installing the new modem, it seems that we have lost some wireless channels and can now only attain four of them with a maximum download speed of 162mbps. However, there are 181 million corrected errors.
A “corrected error” is a defect in transmitted data that has been detected and discorrected, or a flawed data unit ( It’s not bad, but it is an improvement over there.
